tänkte skriva något roligt och inspirerande om alla mina resevåndor, men palla skriva en gång till! jag skrev ju allt i ett mail till david förut, så jag saxar in det om det är av nåt intresse.
det är gött att vara hemma.
Things i have missed about sweden:
- family! wonderful to meet them all again, they haven't changed a bit.
- the luscious greenness of nature. after having gone to bed at seven last night i woke up at five this morning, and after a while i took tesslan out for a quick morningwee and the greenness just struck me - i had quite forgotten how sweden in summer just strive to be so so so green and a lot (just a lot, of everything) and it was just beautiful in the early morning light and wetness after last nights rain.
- just the look of our nature! australia is beautiful to, but in a kind of grand and sparse way. majestic eucalyptuses and ferns, but sweden just have this overwhelming disarray of all plants possible that i realised i'd really missed.
- and the smell! the smell of swedish summer!
nature-y things. i love living in the country (sometimes).
and on to my great travelstories! Last time you heard from me i sat at bangkok airport waiting for my flight, i drank way too much coffee and i didnt have my luggage since the three (3) people i asked on arrival in bangkok all told me that my luggage was checked in all the way to stockholm and i had nothing to worry about. after 14 hours of waiting i was quite bored but the check-in desk finally opened so i took an adventurous walk (it wasnt really adventurous, i just made that up) down he stairs and checked in. guess what they told me!? yes, i think you guessed it right, they told me that i should have picked up my luggage, since it was only checked in to bangkok and not to stockholm! how about that. somewhere around here i was just too tired and kind of just stared at her in despair, and i guess the girl sensed it cos she made a phone call and then told me it was alright, they would fix it.
i went through security three hours before boarding time and just sat there on the metal chairs wishing it was all over. and then came the flight. i was at a seat by the aisle just at the back of the plane, and it took a while before the woman who had the seat next to me arrived. She looked weird. old, haggard, in a plum velour suit and the most unconvincing wig i've ever seen. she took about five minutes to sit down during which i just stood there in the aisle waiting. then we sat down. she talked a bit to herself, muttering away. i fastened my seatbelt, i guess i must have had my elbow out her way cos all of a sudden she lent in and said someting unintelligible in german and i said sorry, i only speak english. she looked at me like i was some kind of insect and spat out "you keep on your territory, alright?"
That made me feel a little bit uncomfortable and i spent most of the trip kind of leaning out towards the aisle so i wouldn't invade her territory by mistake. she speng most of the trip talking and gesticulating (is that a word in english?) to herself.
Nutters on a plane.
zürich-stockholm was no problemos whatsoever and not the traintrip from stockholm either (although i was a bit pissed over the arlanda express fares, it's like 60 dollars for a 20 minute train trip - single way!) and then after a furhter half hour in a car i was finally home!
imorgon ska vi åka och shoppa. nya springskor, ny telefon och en bäddmadrass. sen måste jag fixa wayoutwest-biljett också.
